CHEEKY CHICK CHUCK SCRIPT. Dave Corbett. 2025
Henrietta the hen was out walking with her four chicks. Pullets is the proper name for chicks that will grow up to lay eggs, and Henrietta had three pullets called Harriet, Hanna and Hazel. Good names for hens don’t you think? … and then there was Chuck. Chuck would grow up to be a cockerel, you know, one of those birds that shouts cock-a-doodle-do in the morning, and he was a bit naughty, a bit cheeky. Chuck was a cheeky chick.
As they all walked along Chuck saw something interesting behind a bale of hay and went to look. ‘Come back Chuck’, said Henrietta, ‘the farm cat will catch you and gobble you up’. Chuck said ‘Don’t ruffle your feathers Mum. I was just having a look’. ‘ Ooh, you are a cheeky chick Chuck, said Henrietta as Chuck joined the other chicks.
Then Chuck saw something that looked interesting behind a big milk churn and went to have a look.
Something under the tractor looked interesting and Chuck went to have a look. ‘Come back Chuck’, said Henrietta, ‘the farm cat will catch you and gobble you up’. Chuck said ‘Don’t ruffle your feathers Mum. I was just having a look’. ‘ Ooh, you are a cheeky chick Chuck’, said Henrietta as Chuck joined the other chicks.
Suddenly the farm cat came slinking out from behind the barn. He looked like he wanted to munch a little yellow chick. ‘’You leave my chicks alone,’ said Henrietta, ‘ or you’l get a good pecking from me’. The farm cat didn’t like the sound of that and slunk back behind the barn.
‘See what I mean?’ said Henrietta the hen. ‘Thanks Mum,’ said Chuck.
CHEEKY CHICK CHUCK LYRICS. Dave Corbett. 2025
What’s that there? Just behind the hay? Little chick Chuck went to look.
Come back Chuck, could be danger there, but he really didn’t seem to care.
CHORUS
Don’t ruffle your feathers (x3), keep cool Mum,
Ooh you are a cheeky chick son. (Pock pock)
What’s that there? Just behind the churn? Little chick Chuck went to look.
Come back Chuck, could be danger there, but he really didn’t seem to care.
CHORUS
CLUCKING VERSE
What’s that there? Underneath the wheel? Little chick Chuck went to look.
Come back Chuck, could be danger there, but he really didn’t seem to care.
CHORUS
What’s that there? Can it be a cat? Little chick Chuck dare not look.
‘I’m their Mum, I will peck your nose’. Cat thinks hard and off he goes.
Thanks goodness for feathers, (x3) Well done Mum.
