Song and Story World
8.23 - Always a rush in the morning ... dressing, breakfast, school. Nearly EVERY day.
The alarm goes off.
Another rush to get ready for school as the minutes tick away.
Eventually it's all over … but NO … it all starts again. Sound familiar?

8.23 SCRIPT. Dave Corbett 2024
(clock ticking / alarm)
Mum
Come on you two .. Collin, Becky … got to get a move on.
Toast’s on the table.
(Yawns)
Now … I mean now. Jump to it.
NARRATOR
Jump to it? Collin and Becky could hardly move, never mind jump.
Still they managed to drag themselves out of bed. Huh, another day.
What time was it? 8.23. Yep, time to get going, just over half an hour to get to school. Good job they lived close. No cars involved.
8.23? Feels like the middle of the night.
8.23. LYRICS. Dave Corbett 2024
Eight twenty three, eight twenty three, hurry hurry, scurry scurry,
Eight twenty three, eight twenty three.
Brush those teeth and wash your face, make sure that your hair is done,
Half asleep and half awake, grab your clothes and pull them on.
Daily battle, gets you rattled, eight thirty two.
Eight thirty two, eight thirty two, hurry hurry, scurry scurry,
Eight thirty two, eight thirty two.
Mom shouts out for you to move, down you go to grab a bite.
Brain won't work, all so slow, still feels like it should be night.
Daily battle gets mom rattled, eight forty one.
Eight forty one, eight forty one, hurry hurry, scurry scurry,
Eight forty one, eight forty one.
Grab your books, rush out the door, got to run to beat the clock.
In a daze you get to school, all your senses still in shock.
Daily battle, People rattled, Eight fifty nine.
Eight fifty nine, eight fifty nine, hurry hurry, Scurry scurry,
Eight fifty nine, eight fifty nine.
There's the bell, at your desk, teacher checks the sleepy kids.
Really tired, time to doze, eyes can close their droopy lids.
Daily battle, teachers rattled, three forty one.
Three forty one, three forty one, do not hurry, do not scurry,
Three forty one, three forty one.
Time to chill and just relax, have a laugh and chat to friends,
Watch TV then off to bed, soon be time to start again.
Daily battles, get us rattled, eight twenty three.
Eight twenty three, eight twenty three .….. again.
